Our Story
Excess soil and surplus materials can present a significant financial challenge for housebuilders, developers and contractors, with rising disposal costs often impacting project budgets at the end of each development phase. At the same time, shortages of topsoil, clean cover material and recycled aggregates continue to place pressure on costs across the industry.
Earth Exchange was created to address this imbalance. One project’s surplus material can become another project’s valuable resource.
Operating in line with UK guidance and best practice, the platform enables members to proactively manage the sourcing, reuse and removal of recycled construction materials. By connecting sites locally, Earth Exchange helps reduce waste, lower costs and encourage greater collaboration across the construction industry.
Earth Exchange is supported by experienced developers and contractors with extensive knowledge of remediation, reclamation and construction projects.
The business works closely with CL:AIRE, the UK charity dedicated to promoting the sustainable reuse of land and materials. CL:AIRE provides guidance through the Definition of Waste Code of Practice (DoWCoP), helping to establish a clear, consistent and efficient process for the reuse of excavated materials within the construction sector.
